Come on, Harry. What's wrong with a holiday that is bereft of anything but fun? A younger version of me would make a point to toilet paper your house on Halloween.

I was 27 when I first read Dracula by Bram Stoker. Slow getting into second gear, but then it took off and I couldn't put it down.

In fact, the window blew open that night when I was asleep, and I shot up out of bed because I had been reading about the bat flying in through the window!

Yeah, I read it the first time in college and couldn't put it down once I was into it. I remember staying up all night to read it all the way through. With weirdness in the middle of the night. First time I'd ever read a book with creepy look over the shoulder feelings. Maybe the only time.

All Hallows specifically is Christian, but it's based on a much older Pagan religious holiday, so ebooks about Samhain or Celtic history or religious practices should also be appropriate.

I recommend The Fairy-Faith in Celtic Countries. (Which, when I've got time, I plan on converting to a more useful ebook format. There's a text file, but it's got no markup for italics or section breaks.)

Or maybe anything by Samhain publishing.

I had a book recommendation a minute ago, I swear. Oh. There it is! The most creepy book I have read is Threads of Malice, by Tamara Siler Jones. It is good, but creepy. It is a couple of years old though, and I don't know if it is available as e-book..

I checked. Books on board has it

Hey, that book was cited in "The Book of Hallowe'en."

And I'm not sure is Samhain publishing is the best place for Halloween books, despite the name
