Introducing Myself and cant run recent calibre

When my wife experienced wet macular degeniration in one eye, I purchased her an Amazon Kindle I. Since then, I have become very interested in the electronic reading devices beyond the computor. I have a web site www.webebookreader.com which I am overhauling and will soon launch the new version. The site will focus on authoring, publishing, and marketing ebooks.

Given all of that, I have been trying to upgrade my calibre program from 0.6.5 to 0.6.16 and cannot get it to run. I am using Windows XP Pro. Calibre says that the graphical interface is not loading. I went through the procedure outlined in the FAG with no luck. In conclusion, I ran the cmd then calibre-debug -g and got the following message which they as to posted here. so here it is Traceback (most recent call last): File "debug.py", line 202, in <module> File "debug.py", line 162, in main File "calibre\gui2\main.pyo", line 33, in <module> File "calibre\gui2\widgets.pyo", line 21, in <module> File "calibre\utils\fonts\__init__.pyo", line 17, in <module> RuntimeError: Failed to load fontconfig with error LL load failed: The specified procedure could not be found. I have no idea were to go from here Thanks, Dan Peterson |

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=166 Kovid, the developer of the program, is extremely efficient at answering questions and sorting out problems. |
