I do my best. Excuse the poor iPhone photo, but here's looking west from the balcony: Last edited by montsnmags; 03-25-2010 at 06:33 AM. |

OK, I'm not the hysterical type, but I'm panicking just slightly. Went out to grab some lunch an hour early, cos I could see the dust storm getting worse fast. No worries. Now, an hour later, I can hardly breathe and every time I do, I smell dust. Inside. GAH!!!! Have taken my rarely-taken-but-mostly-always-carried asthma medication. Hopefully the stuff works, or the coffee does. Otherwise I'm gonna be joining the other dopey breathing-impaired folks at the overcrowded hospital |

oh no ! do you have any kind of dust-filtration mask you could wear ? maybe even just tying a scarf over your face would help. i hope the dust clears soon ! (funny how rarely you can say that and mean it *literally*). let us know you're okay !

I didn't realise it was so much worse in Brissie. I'll have to go news photo hunting... Cheers, Marc

Found some good ones? It's not as bad as Sydney was - yet - but it's pretty damn impressive!

Think I'm stuck with Train From Hell. On the bright side, trains in Brisbane don't have openable windows (thanks to the smart chaps who got heads, arms and legs knocked off), so the dust won't get in much even if the aircon breaks down I'll be OK. My asthma meds DO work on the dust-caused asthma (thank God), so I'll just finish up a bit more tired from the extra strain on my heart. Thanks for worrying. And sorry for stressing folks out. I just panicked a little when I couldn't breathe properly all of a sudden. Stoopid dust!

Is that even possible? I'm glad you are ok - and I panic dayly, so no fuss there. And frankly, the dust storm frightens me, it's just so...odd. |
