				Waiting for www.Mobileread.com

Over the last few days I'm experiencing a lot of "waiting for www.mobileread.com's. And this morning I got timed out while waiting. This wait can be anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds. Is anyone else finding the system slow, or is it just me? Is there heavy traffic causing delays? WDE. |

It happens to me occasionally. I think it is related to how many dragons are on a page.

I think some of the issues are related to Google Analytics and sites like that that can bog things down things to the point of a time out.

Four (or six) times a day a snap shot backup is run. While that is happening all requests will be queued up since the snapshot needs exclusive access to the database. Also.... there is alot more traffic here than there was just 6 months ago. As Harry said, Alex has some plans in the works to deal with this stuff. That said, MR is still consistently one of the fastest web sites I use. BOb |

I have the same problem at times, I just assumed it was my ISP (Spanish Telefonica) their service is the worst possible. At times my broadband connection is just 32kbs - slower than dial up - and for that I have to pay €40 a month. No cheap deals here |

I wonder if it could be your carrier/area? Here.....loading is practically instantaneous. I can certainly understand your frustration, tho.

No idea, except that I don't experience this with any other site I visit. Right now, this site is loading just fine, but it comes in spurts, so I expect to hit a bottleneck again soon enough.

Maybe it's also related to the navigator you use. Firefox with Adblock might be faster than IE or Firefox without. |

I've timed out several times today at the server. Seems to run great for about 10 minutes, then not so great for about 10 minutes. WDE. |
