				Hello to all

Just signed up. Looked seriously into where book publishing was going ... i.e. electronic about 15-20 years ago and been waiting. Kindle seems to have kicked the doors open along with Sony and I'm interested again, particularly with things like Project Gutenberg providing epub format books. I'm very likely to buy the Sony book reader (even today perhaps). Hope to learn lots here. Enjoy! |

Howdy Am and Cassidy....whelp I did it. Picked up the 505 on the way home from work today. And I just found out that I apparently can use Calibre to sync my books as well but apparently still need to use the Sony E-Library software to buy/download books from there.... I think I've got a lot to learn. Thanks for the welcome. |

Hi Kennyc, welcome to MR. I have a 505 also as well as a 700 and a jetbook. I prefer the 505 due to its clarity and the formats it supports. However, as a college student I like to use a reader to save paper by down loading my papers on it and making corrections on it. I need a touch screen for that. I also miss having a dictionary since getting rid of my ebookwise. So, I am anticipating getting a 600. Richard |

Hi kennyc. Welcome to the MobilRead forums. I have a 505 and love it. No problems for me with pdf files as I only use the reader for books and not technical files or graphic work. Pure text pdf's work fine on the 505. Stitchawl |

Welcome to MobileRead, Kennyc! You can also download free ebooks right here at MR. They are books that are in the public domain and have been lovingly formatted by some of MR's members. Enjoy. Happy Reading. |

Ah yes! I really appreciate that. One of the main things that pushed me over the edge to buying was the amazing quantity of public domain classic lit etc. Thank You! | |||
