of course, it would be even better if they had a french dictionary, and if you could install your own dictionaries and search all dictionaries installed... but it sounds like an excellent start.

I'm glad you liked the new PRS. How did you find the "turning page by dragging on the screen" function? Is is easy? Thank you

Strangely the action is set by default from left to right. Fortunately the motion is adjustable and can be easily changed in the reverse direction (right to left) in the option panel if yo prefer the other way around. By holding on the touch screen after dragging, you can also turn pages repeatedly Screen refresh quickly done on a flip page action If you get tired of using screen there is also the "page turn buttons" [ < ] or [ > ] which can be used

If it's anything like the PRS-700, a wee flick of the thumb across the corner of the screen is all that's needed, either forward or backward. The small smudge you may leave isn't even in on the text portion of the page. This allows me to read with just one hand, which is my preference.

Wow. the new clearer pictures have me very excited. Thanks Oliver and Joe for all the information. I am no longer worried. I will be getting my PRS-600 soon, but the suspense is killing me. Want my first reader NOW! HAHA. I want to on it asap. Oh well, I will have to wait to get it. I have a ton of articles to read, but computer screens kill my eyes. Can't do it. Hey Joe, have you tried searching your documents? Just curious how that goes. |

Some of you decided to go with the 505 after seeing the 600's screen. Does or will the 505 support the epub format? (Sonys website would indicate it doesen't). I already own and enjoy 2 Kindles, my interest in the new Sonys was to add the epub option to my arsenal.

Sony Prs-505 already supports epub. It has for about a year.

I never really thought about it before, in terms of replicating pbook page turning. I just thought left to right seemed analogous to a >> arrow. Right to left seems like "back" to me.

I wonder how long it will take some enterprising person to hack dictionaries for other languages? I could use an Italian dictionary more than an English one. |

I have my 700 set up for a right to left page forward because it is analogous to turning a page. Last edited by Donnageddon; 08-22-2009 at 11:56 PM. Reason: missing a verb
