iRex DR100S Software 1.7 Has been Released

From the iRex Knowledgebase

iRex Digital Reader 1000S software 1.7 has been released.

There are a few minor, but useful changes.

Tabbed task manager - With the Tabbed Task Manager you can quickly switch between open files, applications and the last opened folder.
Spanish and Italian language support - Support for Spanish and Italian has been added. You can change your preferred language in the settings menu.
USB Charger detected - The device will now automatically detect when a USB wall charger is connected and it will no longer ask to export to the PC in this case.
Bug fixes
- Fixed bug where setting the date or time would crash the device
- The Main LED is now always on when lights are switched off in the settings.
- Various small bug-fixes

I've found the tab feature alone to be very useful.

Full screen knocks out the tabs in the documents. They should have made a way to minimize it otherwise.

The docs between the tabs seem to open faster than they did going through the menu but that could just be my imagination.

I almost installed but I think I'll wait since I've waited long enough to see what shakes out.

I was hoping the release would be more impressive in terms of features but who knows what the "various small bug fixes" means, it may have fixed a bunch of anomalies I've run into.

Thank you to the developers (how many are there?) because each baby step counts!

Can anyone take a screenshot/photo of an open PDF with the tabs? They sound nice but if they are too intrusive I may hold-off updating (my DR1000 is working great and so I don't want to risk introducing new bugs

).

I did not like this tabs , its functional but dont look good .
And the pdf bug still goes on . . .

Tabs is obviously a personal thing. I like them as it means it's very quick to move through various open docs and I really don't notice much difference in the displayed area.

Others however clearly don't like them so maybe an option to enable or disable would be useful, or even re-locate them to the top of the page rather than the side, though again I prefer the side.

It means that if you plug in a wall charger, rather than a PC, the DR will just charge up and not ask if you want to connect to a PC, as you clearly cannot.
