Updated to 1.2, still no folder view

I just updated to the latest firmware available on the web site but it still does not have folder view! This is very frustrating. I need to be able to organize my several hundred books by unique folder names. How much longer until this problem is corrected? Is there another firmware somewhere that corrects this that is not on the site? Please help. |

I simply cannot understand why they would do this to their customers. It is obvious that many Cybook owners have been waiting for this for a long time. They should be working on this 24/7 until it is available for download! This device was very expensive, we should get much better customer support than this.

Just as a heads up, this topic is already being discussed in this thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...=28805&page=13 (And, as it seems, the discussion was initiated by the same member.) |

Moaning about it in 53 different threads isn't going to make it appear any sooner . |

I am willing to moan about it in 54 or 55 threads if that will make appear sooner |

Still, enough with the moaning, bitching and name-calling already. The guys at Bookeen messed up their latest release date estimation and now are reluctant to give any estimate at all. Can't say I blame them. And, in my opinion, firmware updates are a privilege, not a right. They sold the device advertising a certain featureset. These features were present from the start. Anything on top of that is a bonus. And yes, I'm aware there are and were bugs in the firmware- but at least in my case, I was well aware of the extent of these bugs when buying the Cybook from several reviews I read, including these forums. Having said that, of course I'd like to get the update myself rather sooner than later. |

My understanding is that the firmware is complete, and they updated several Cybooks at some conference last week. Did they use those people as beta testers, or did they install a ready to release firmware update? If it is ready, why are they not making it public?

I don't know, but that kind of misses my point, anyway. It may be as simple as marketing: Now there's a real difference in capabilities between the Cybook and the Opus. If they release the update, they would be about the same softwarewise. So, no real incentive for people to buy a shiny new reader then.

What is bad is that they give the new firmware to certain people and deliver it in newly sold Gen3 devices and then refuse to release it. This just generates bad feelings.
