Coleco ADAM, that's cute. Anyway, if you haven't tried out RSS yet its something you might want to check out. Rather than scanning one site I scan a set of tech sites using an RSS reader. I enjoy the feedly reader for firfox. It lets me put the headlines from Engadget, Teleread and a few more on one tech/gadget page. A separate page for my news headlines.

It certainly looks like a matt finish in the photos on Bookeen's site.

Must be my crappy laptop. The LCD is going out. Perhaps it was ghosting the image when I was looking at the pics. It gets so hot, I can cook burgers on my keypad.

If you are from USA, I recommend you to wait for Astak EZ Reader Pocket Pro. Buying from Astak will make the support and warranty issues much easier. Also price might be more interesting. Not to mention Astak has "Slate Blue" (Tm) model ;-)
Well here is another entry in "soon" on sale 5" and of different colors.

Another novelty this season, 5" device "alphabet" awaits us shortly. Late evening yesterday we received the news that a producer of the software sent new version to install in the first instalment of devices.

"alphabet" was for some time in its finished State and expected start selling from warehouse producer. Device is fully staffed, packaged and ready. Beautiful boxes in a book look alike design with white tabs and a large letter ” A“ were awaiting only on a final version of software.
Oh and most importantly the "software manufacturers" are none other then Open Inkpot developers who are well known on our forums.

Here is look alike box :

I'm glad to be on the Astak wagon. It looks like all of the design/colours from many of the upcoming players in the e-book reader market are geared to the female crowd.

Glad Astak let MobileRead Forum choose colors.

I just want to let you know that Astak opened its thread up for about a week allowing discussion and choices of color for their upcoming 5 inch device. This allowed some really good discussion and some really great opinions. What was wanted was not female or male colors... just some "soft colors" and some "deep hard colors".

I am also VERY happy that Griffonwing and others said to stay away from gloss colors and go with Matte.

I take offense at that remark! We're not all like that...

I hope B&N does not decide to kill off ePub. Adding a second DRM will indeed kill off ePub.

Hehe. Retract those Claws!!

I was referring to the 'girly mentality' majority.

Just like the "male mentality" majority is all about football and beer.

Dear Griffonwing:

Sweetpea and you are both two of the nicenst people on MobileRead Forum. Please remember that there are men who like pink and women who love black. You cannot judge a person by their color selection in eBook Readers. I wanted colors that MAY be attractive to the feminine tastes... but women run the spectrum on color likes. There is no "girley" majority... it is a matter of what catches your fancy and their fancy.

Of course you can! The same way you judge a BOOK by its COVER!

(And probably with equally valid results...)

Not if they change the extension. It will be no different that all the formats we have now and impact ePUB not at all. If the extension is the same then customers will get confused.
