I am using the Sony PRS-700 and would like to use your program to gain Chinese font support. Although if I flash the device won't it cause it to have the 505 firmware?

Is there a better option to gain Chinese font support?

The 700 is not supported, and it's unlikely it ever will be.

The best way to get Chinese font support on your 700 is to use ePub and embed the Chinese fonts you want to use.

See ePub custom Fonts on 700 and 505 for more information on how to do this.

Wish I had better news, AiBo. I don't own a 700 and have no plans to get one.

I used the customizer with great success. I changed the power button option, stoppped the scaling fonts on the menu, and of course personalized it BUT......I can't seem to get the logo option to work right. I modified the correct png file with my little picture and overlaid the "reader" graphic with it and resaved the file with the same name. When I flash my 505 I get the logo fine but my reader now has 2 additional vertical lines from top to bottom on the menu page????? The vertical lines are evenly spaced and divide the reader into 3 equal sections from top to bottom. I tried it twice with new files each time and the same thing happens. Any ideas what causes this?

Make sure tour logo file is a png, RGB color and eight bits/channel. Other than that, I'm not sure what your problem might be...

could it be the size is bigger than the original?
I simply opened the original in photoshop as a base and worked on it from there, saved the new image with my name and logo to replace the original....it works great!

I would love to change the language and some settings.

How can I make that happen?

What help can I provide and how?

I can also help with the programming.
I have had experience with RB (one version lower than the version you use but I could upgrade) in the past and I currently work with Cocoa.

Basically downgrade your german 1.4 version to the 1.1 USA version and then PRSCustomizer will work.
You can save your 1.4 version for future restore attempt.

the english 1.2 (UK) works fine too - you don't get the crazy US date format

I am the new and not so proud owner of PRS-505. I successfully followed all the steps for customizing my device for cyrillic fonts - book title and author are readable. The LITTLE problem is book itself is still NOT readable. Am I doing something wrong. Book is on the SD card in the RTF format. Need help!
