Either a doctor with a supply of sedatives or a psychiatrist. I get claustrophobia if I'm shut in anywhere and I never take a lift if there's another way. Last year I went to the restaurant at the top of Sydney tower and spent both journeys hanging on to my husband for courage. |

Argh - now that changes the thing entirely. If there's windows, if I can't be stuck in the lift with Stephen fry, who I am sure would be able to take my mind off things with his wit, then the person with the sedatives also needs to have a blindfold. I hate glass lifts. (bizarrely, I'm only scared of heights if I'm in something. Outside, they're not a problem) |

I was stuck in an elevator many years ago (read back before I was married, when I was still single) with a lady I worked with (about the same age.) The lights were dim, the fans still worked, and smoking was not banned in elevators that day. We saw each other for about six months after that. No, we weren't stuck for six months, just a few very interesting hours. There were no cameras in those days so I have nothing to post on YouTube for your enjoyment. |

Yes, I have been stuck on an elevator with an elevator repairman! He just took out his tools and got us moving again. This building where I work was definitely built by the lowest bidder. Add in lots of kids playing on the elevators. Result? Frequent elevator problems. The odds of getting stuck are pretty high, but not the odds of being stuck with an elevator repairman onboard. I get briefly stuck at least once a week. Jumping up and down usually un-sticks it, and it's fun to watch the faces of the parents stuck on there with you when you start trying to loosen it up. Your elevator will not plummet to earth like in the movies. |

I'd like to be stuck with Superman, so he could open the doors for me in a single bound.

note to self : NEVER get stuck in an elevator with dixiegal. that's already something which scares me and i usually take the stairs to avoid them but if i were and someone started jumping up and down i think i would probably faint from terror ! | |

Nobody... I hate small enclosed spaces. I'll mostly start hitting very soon if it's too busy, and get panic attacks when I'm alone (or with a few people). I usually only take the elevator when I'm going to the top, I'd rather take the stairs going down (and luckily, we don't have that many very tall buildings here...) |
