It has been a while, but I used to love brewing my own beer. From grain mind, not from a tin... I considered that an art. Getting the balance of grain and hop to finish with a unique taste... |

Well, it is beer in the same sense that a tree is a book... This is one of the more interesting (in my opinion) stages of beer becoming beer. This is the Krausen or the Yeast Head that is formed whilst the sugar is being fermented into alcohol. I have in the past taken some time lapse photos and made it into a small movie. After a couple of weeks though, yup, it is most definately beer

Google Cache - a great tool when a site is unavailable This is the video - http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p...t=INTN1374.flv You may need to run it twice - it seems the first run through just skips to the end. And while only a couple of seconds long, this was about 3 hours in real time (iirc) Last edited by PieOPah; 05-29-2009 at 09:09 AM. |

I really do need to find the time to start again - Does take most of the day for 1 batch (about 40 UK Pints). But I console myself with the fact that I am trying to lose weight so shouldn't be drinking that much at the moment anyway

[QUOTE=PieOPah;473919]It has been a while, but I used to love brewing my own beer. From grain mind, not from a tin... I considered that an art. Getting the balance of grain and hop to finish with a unique taste... I also don't wish to offend, but could we just see the FINISHED product instead of how it came to be that way? I have a very sensitive gag reflex. We DO appreciate your artful entry nonetheless. Quote:

Seriously though, this is the closet I have to the finished product... I did think that the process looks better than the finished product though - nature at work (with a helping hand!) Last edited by PieOPah; 05-29-2009 at 08:59 AM.
