It's only an ordinary rock egg, and it's soft at the moment.

Well, you can only get geodes by crossbreeding two stone dragons, or two pebble dragons (the medium green ones), or one stone and one pebble. And it's not guaranteed, because I haven't managed it yet. But I hadn't heard there was something different you could get by breeding two geodes. Then again, I haven't been bothering with the forum over there lately.

There might be a chance of getting something else if you crossbreed two geodes often enough. I know you're supposed to be able to get a geode if you cross a pebble with stone, but so far all I've gotten that way are more pebbles and stones. Do you know anything about the sunrise/sunset dragons? I think that's what the blue/yellow egg will be, but I wonder if they both come from the same kind of egg, depending on when it was laid or when it hatches or whatever. |

Hm! I'll have to try that! I actually managed to pick up a silver egg from the regular cave, to my great surprise. Normally my connection isn't fast enough to get any of the rare eggs that way. Now that I have a sunrise and a sunset dragon, I'm mostly breeding less common eggs to give away. I'll probably never get any of the really rare eggs, e.g. gold, paper, chicken, etc. At least I'm having fun with the striped dragons, finding out what the different crosses look like. |

Can you post the eggs of the striped dragons so I know what to look for?

Actually, they're just chickens. The eggs are smaller than other eggs, and eventually they hatch into chickens. (Sterile chickens, apparently.) | |

Ha! I just managed to get a chicken egg! I generally wait two days before I put them in my sig line, so I don't have to fog them later, but you can see it in my "scroll": http://dragcave.net/user/nekokami Nate, if I manage to breed a striped dragon egg, do you want it? If we can connect on some kind of real-time chat, I could pass you the code before I drop it. |

Yes. Would you like a geode?

I've managed to breed one myself now, and I'll probably be able to get another later this week. So thanks anyway, but not necessary. At this point all I'm really interested in is different colored stripes, so if I give you an egg you can work on that, and once you've got enough to share we can swap some more. BTW, I think this very cool software could be used to generate the kinds of organisms I was talking about earlier: http://www.xenodream.com/ |

I'm beginning to think that the odds are deliberately stacked against inbreeding. I have had very little success with parent-child crosses. Lately I've been trying more distant crosses like uncle-niece, cousins, etc, and I think I've had a higher success rate. I discovered the higher success rate by accident. Tonight I was actually trying to breed unrelated vine dragons, but my vine dragons are too closely related for that to be possible. |
