Picco file transfer
I had a look at the Picco manual and all possibilities for file transfer mentioned require a Boox account.
Is that serious, or is there a way to transfer a file for example by copying it directly to the SD card? |

Chalid already did a test port for Crosspoint, so as always, custom roms fix all the problems

the video is about a pre-sample and not about the final product.
- is local file conversion and USB file transfer without boox website/acoount possible with the actual delivered Picco - are there already any experiences with intalling crosspoint? |

Just don't buy crap that isn't able to display ebub files natively, something that was also mentioned on this forum previously (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...48&postcount=6). It's as easy as that.
In September I had the impression that converting via website would be possible but you'd've to allow the boox website access to your USB-connection. Why should one do that? Quote:
Using a third party firmware isn't an option when a device costs >100$/Euros, then it should work right out of the box and display epubs natively. |

I fully agree.
But I would nevertheless be glad to receive an answer to my questions above. I didn't even find a converter from epub to opup on Linux. Any hints? Would flashing crosspoint to the Picco work from firefox on Linux? (I assume the Picco is not USB-locked) |

From what I've read you can flash Crosspoint for Picco and epub should work without the need to convert them.
There's a bin file for picco: https://github.com/crosspoint-reader....0.0-picco.bin For other releases: https://github.com/crosspoint-reader...eader/releases Unfortunately there isn't a mention of the Picco for installing the firmware via command line: https://github.com/crosspoint-reader...stall-firmware crosspointreader.com/devices may have a list of supported devices, I just see a white, empty page, disabling the CSS just says "Impact-Site-Verification: 8ec41e75-2735-415b-8643-fc0b10a943a5". Oh, well...maybe they should've asked someone who knows how to set up their webpage so that it works w/o JavaScript and cookies and/or checking the user agent. |
