Colorsoft on 5.18.0.2 - which jailbreak path?

I have Colorsoft still on 5.18.0.2, kept in airplane mode. I want to jailbreak it and update it today. Is it better (and for what reason) to jailbreak it first, apply hotfix and then update to 5.19.6 or, as it seems simpler, update directly to 5.19.6 using USB and then jailbreak using Vera?

It looks to me that the end result is the same. However, do older jailbreaks that still work on 5.18.0.2 have any advantage over Vera?

I did, but I was hoping for an explanation why is it better to do the way it says.

It also does not answer the question if older jailbreaks that still work on 5.18.0.2 have any advantage over Vera and if not, why does it recommend them.

The reason is Vera is new and the site probably has not been updated for it.

The advantage of newer jailbreaks is that they automatically block OTA updates, and also install KPM.
