Without even looking at it I can confidently guess that it is suffering from the same problem that the Fantastic Fiction plugin has - anti web-scraping measures which I don't have a practical workaround for. If someone can come up with a fix for the FF plugin (to allow generating an AWS cookie token as per that thread) then the same approach could theoretically be applied here.

For now I'm afraid its just going to have to stay broken.

It is sad that we need to suffer because of the bad acts of others that overused a free service.
I have seen cloudflare messages on another (really) small forum group hosted by the product manufacturer (like the early days of personal computing).

I tried update the series_index, but the plugin doesn't show it in the preview and ignore the series_index when updating metadata. Can anyone help me with how to do it? Screenshot attached.

I use ISBN, ASIN, and personally created ID's to match books in Calibre all the time - I NEVER match by title/Author because I use the different ID's. I have a LOT of different libraries - and least of which, importing the Goodreads Library Export to update the columns in my library requires using the Goodreads ID because the matching otherwise takes too much time.

The only thing you need to do is create a composite column with the identifier in it to have it register as an ID in the plugin to use to match.

I was hoping to use the Import Lits plugin to add the correct titles and authors. I have a series of books to import where I only know the number in the series. I prepared a CSV in which the correct titles, authors and order in the series are. However, I found two problems.

1. it is not possible to match books only by the number in the series
2. when I go the route of creating empty books so that I can later link the books, to my dismay the book titles are capitalized, which is unacceptable in my language. Only the first letter must be capitalized and only the titles can have a capital letter.

I understand that point 1. is not implemented, but how to prevent capitalization in point 2.?

The 10 posts or more rule applies to editing a post, but it does NOT apply to adding attachments - if it did there wouldn't be any new plugins from new members like @taurin's Calibre Awards

Duh! Thanks for the correction.

The problem really is that once the image link has been posted, it can't be edited to be changed to an attachment.

I've been trying to use the predefined option for Fantastic Fiction. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but can't figure it out. I click edit and add the url for the author I want. When I click preview nothing happens on the right side where the preview should be except at the top more title headings are shown in addition to title & author. The url I'm using is https://www.fantasticfiction.com/b/allison-brennan/. Even using the default url and clicking preview nothing happens.

I noticed the default url is for the UK and I'm in the US. Don't know if that makes a difference or not. Can anyone help?

Fantastic fiction has not worked (Web Page) for quite some time. I just tried Predefined, and it failed. I believe this is due to blocking

Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that. I do have another question about the Clipboard option and regexp syntax.

I have the title and author in Excel in separate columns. If I copy from Excel and paste into the clipboard tab it reads the data as one field. I had to add another column in the middle with a special character (I used a [ ) and then used \[ in the expression and that did work to break apart the title and author.

I have never used regexp before so I didn't know if there was a better way to do that. Is there some other syntax I should use that recognizes an Excel column where I won't need to add a special character column?
