Watching this red ball in the sky through grey haze caused by the smoke from, I suspect, the American Pacific Northwest wildfires plus those burning in the BC interior. Sadly, smoke does not respect international boundaries.

While wanting to keep the sourdough fresh, without having to freeze it, I'll have to cook the bread during nights as it's the only moment I can wait the stove to reach the temps, not sweating too much.
Althought I'll like to say I don't regret still starting half hour, the evening, the economic kitchen, within 3 small logs, and cooking various things altogether (I give a poaching at the monkfish's skins I now use for the cats, then adding some fresh livers while blending), other than having already the hot water to wash my dishes.
Nor I regret starting half hour in the morning the wood water boiler to take a shower: I guess in all the winter I've used 10 times, at all, the electric, lpg one.
The 1 cube meter of winter's woods remains also seem to last still a lot, starting the stove just these half hours' moments. Time ago I was on a neighbourhood's place, and that family was using the economic even at lunch.

I just put together a Gnedby cd/dvd shelve (Ikea). I was running out of space for my dvd's, I've put my series in there and still have three and a half shelve free. For now I put some box sets on those shelves to fill them up. It freed up a shelf in my main bookcase for more movies. And if need be I have enough space for a second one in the future.

I'm also considering investing in a region free blu-ray player; lately there have been several releases that are only available in the US and I can't play those on my current player.

Twilight weed whacking - waited for temps to drop < 90 F and sun to go down - somehow managed to air-loft a wolf spider that hit me in the neck - able to bite me in mid-flight

Watched the football game, had dinner, relaxed on the back patio and did some reading. Then answered some firmware image requests and did a first pass on cleaning up some ebooks for another author who had rights reverted.

And it has finally cooled down. And earlier than predicted.

For yesterday temperatures of 27℃ to 29℃ were expected, with a short rain shower between 9 and 10am. It did start raining at the expected time, but it kept raining (with some short dry spells) until after 2pm. In the afternoon there were even a couple of thunderstorms. And it wasn't just drizzle, it was proper rain. After the rain temperatures peaked at 26℃, but that only lasted a couple of minutes before dropping down again. Most of the day it was between 22℃ and 24℃, though the very high humidity made it feel warmer.

Today it was 24℃ in the afternoon. We had booked a guided tour of the gardens of a local castle, so in principle the weather was nice. But when the sun came out it still felt a lot warmer. It probably was also because after the temperatures we've had the ground, buildings, etc have soaked up a lot of warmth and now it cooler those are giving off heat, too.

Tomorrow morning it's going to start raining again and every day for the next week there's a chance of rain. I just hope that it'll be dry when I have to cycle to work.

It's a typical Sunday today. I'm doing some laundry before we have to leave. Today, before going to my parents, my sister wants to visit the garden center and plant nursery. The garden center has a nice café, so we'll probably have lunch there.

We're arriving at my parents a little bit earlier than normal; the Dutch Grand Prix is on today and we want to watch that together. Afterwards we'll have dinner together.

I still got two hours before we're leaving, so I'll spend most of that time working on my current cross stitch project and the remaining time I'll read (I've jumped on the Dungeon Crawler Carl bandwagon).

Babysitting. Just woke up from a nap and now enjoying lunch. I hope soon they will grok the idea that food is for internal application.
