Seeking Kobo Clara HD N249 Firmware

Hey there,

I have a strange issue with my stock e-reader, where every other boot it glitches out and has random rendering artifacts, I confirmerd after a reflow attempt on the ram (assuming it was that due to a drop) that it's acctualy the SD Card that is failing or firmware that is corrupted, I did test this card on a known working board.

Thus I'm seeking firmware to flash a fresh Micro SD Card with, I'm picking up a 64GB Lexar Card soon for this, so it'll be a storage upgrade as well.

Case it's purely card related however, what cloning method do you all recommend on Linux?

Thank you for your time and efforts, and for helping me savey personal e-reader.

Regards,
RepairGal.

Hi, I have an old Kobo N647 that no longer has its micro SD card. I'm hoping someone on here can share the firmware image so I can get it running again!

On Linux, dd seems to be the popular tool to read/write images. One old post was: Replacing/upgrading a Mini (or other internal) SD card with Linux.

I have requested that your PMs be enabled and will send the image link when that has been done.

Hi David,

I sent you a PM, I'm not sure why it wasn't working, I do not have it disabled or locked to contacts only, so I'll wait for you to test it again.

Thank you for sharing the guide, I will give that a try, in the very least to save my books.

(It just dawned on me that the mods probably had it disabled as I'm a new user, thank you for asking them to enable it.)

I get the next two days off, so I'll be getting a Lexar Class 10 64GB Card today for it. I already repaired a bad screen unit that I grabbed from eBay for parts, however I soon realized that my board is still good so I fixed it instead by swapping the display/touch, Cameron Sino battery (as I punctured the oem during removal.), and borrowing my oem LED from my personal good board, as this other unit had a dead one. But once I realized my board was still good, I ended up custom ordering a replacement.

It's gonna be really nice to get two working in the same week so my partner can have the other one.

Hello,

I am looking for a Kobo Libra 2 (N418) SD card image.

My motherboard revision is 37NB-E70K1M+6E0.

The original internal 32 GB SanDisk microSD card became corrupted while transferring books with Adobe Digital Editions. The Kobo now only shows a white screen with a flashing white LED.

I would really appreciate it if someone could share the correct SD image.

Thank you!

I just wanted to say: Thanks for this!
Our Clara HD was no longer able to connect using USB. It would show the pop-up to ‘connect’ but then it would hang and reboot itself after a few minutes in this state.
Re-writing the SD card fixed this and it even feels slightly more snappy then before.
Without this board the whole device might have turned into e-waste.

Again: thank you!!

Hi, my Kobo Libra2 is stuck in a boot-loop due to a corrupt SDCard.

Can someone share with me an image for the Kobo Libra 2 (N418) 32GB size SDcard?
I allready have the SDcard removed from the e-reader.
