Menu Feature request
In the "Remove Books" menu, I would like to see "Marked Books" added. I see "Selected Books". That, however, is less convenient when picking a number of books from a larger sized library (using Ctrl-click). And possibly more prone to errors.
Marking books can be done in sessions and, for me, with more confidence. Thanks for considering. |

You could Show Marked books (Ctrl+Shift+M), then select the shown Books (Ctrl+A), then Remove the Selected Books (Del), then Clear the Search (Escape).
You might even be able to put those steps in an Action Chain. BR |

Yeah, that works. I'm playing with the Action Chain plugin, but I'm stuck on a step; maybe you can help.
Step 1: mark selected books Step 2: show marked books What I can't figure from here is how to select the marked list. I can Ctrl-A them, but I don't know how to automate that using the plugin. |

I don't use the Action Chains plugin.
Have a look in the Action Chains Resources thread. And/or ask in the Action Chain plugin thread. BR |

Thanks for mentioning this to me.
I figured out Step 3. It is Action-Selection Modifier, Select all books in the current library view. --Which is the shown marked books. Easy after that. But--if Kovid wants to add the Remove option in the original request, that would be swell, too! |

I'm not too keen the issue is that once I open the door to these requests it becomes why not implement them for bulk metadata edit or conversion or whatever else. Instead as pointed out by BR you can always convert marked to selected with a couple of key presses/mouse clicks. After you are done marking, simply press ctrl+shift+m and then ctrl+a (or add the mark books action to the toolbar then you can access it with mouse).

Understood.
Anyway, with help I've worked out a suitable alternative. |
