It seems the Crosspoint firmware team may be coming up with a solution for that also on the current Xteink devices .. something to keep an eye on, anyway: https://www.reddit.com/r/xteinkeread...libby_legally/

Also, Boox has apparently teased a new product line, with Boox Pico as a 3.97’’ device - so far there’s just a couple of product pictures and some blogs & YouTubers seem to have been given an initial tiny bit of information, with no further details or specs, including whether it has Android or not, but for anyone in the market for a tiny reader, it seems possible that there may well be a couple of options available in the not too distant future.

Thanks for the heads up.

I read the thread and bookmarked it and will research both devices.

Just saw this as a follow-up from the developer .. looks like it’s on hold for now (due to legal issues I guess) but they definitely seem to want to go forward with it and are actively looking for legal ways to make it work (including with Readium): https://www.reddit.com/r/XTEINK/comm...libby_support/

So for now it might be back to waiting for an Android pocket e-reader for DRM (including Libby) support...

The title of the thread has now been slightly edited to reflect that the product has actually been released.

Thanks for the update. It'll be a waiting game. She only reads library books and if a pocket e-reader can't handle Libby, then she has no need for it.

NO USB-C

I have the original XTEINK x4 and saw the announcement of the X4 Pro. Not having a standard USB-C charging/data port is a no-go for me. Having to have a non-standard charging cable is not for me.

I'm using the Boox Palma Pro 2 and like it a lot.

Just to clarify:

The owner supplies the cable, which means there is no "non-standard charging cable", as you state.

It DOES come with an adapter/dongle that connects to a cable of one's choice.
