Can I set a default line-height in the config file?

Yes, kepub overrides some css values, including line-height and margins. Epub does not.

How does this work? Currently in the 'look and feel' part of the conversion window, in the layouts tab I have line size set to 1em. That doesn't seem to do much though, so I think you must be talking about something else?

The styling tab, Other CSS Properties -> line-height

I mean, I think I'm reasonably competent at CSS. My problem is I'm entirely self-taught and don't know what anything's CALLED, so asking for help/explaining what I've done is difficult.

I can change line-heights myself no problem. But if doing this will remove them all for me, why wouldn't I do this? It saves my hands.

So, this didn't work. The line-height is completely out of the CSS, my slider is set as far left as it'll go, and the line-height looks like it's around 1.3.

This keeps happening, and it's driving me bonkers. 's why I was asking do Kobos have a default line-height, because it really seems like it does, and that default is not 1.

If you want your line-height to be smaller than the smallest default, use the patch.

Yes, the default is 1.3 with no patches. However, I have a solution for you that should work very easily.

• Plug the Kobo into the USB port
• using a file manager (file explorer on Windows) and go to the Kobo drive and then .kobo and then kobo
• edit the file Kobo eReader.conf (on Windows use Notepad++)
• Under [Reading] put readingLineHeight=0.76. Change the value to what you want.
• Reboot your Kobo
• That should do it without the need to patch.

It'll get reset if you ever change the line-height on your Kobo. With the patch it's easy to set it again without needing to edit the conf file every time.

I know this. But I set the screen refresh this way and it's never been reset. Once the line height is set, just don't touch the slider. if the slider is ever moved, the line height can be put back.

The non-patched lowest line height of 1.3 is 100% stupid.
