I've been working on LazyReader, an Android EPUB reader that can read books directly from cloud-storage providers instead of requiring imports into app-specific storage.

Ah so I've been reading the website and it appears that you also created an interactive fiction writing application called LazyAuthor. That is a very interesting concept and combination of features. I'm sure the interactive element is something not a lot of reading and writing apps support.

By extension it almost feels like we'd put small websites in an "executable" epub, completely portable as well.

I really like what I'm seeing. Thanks for sharing! I'll also check out LazyAuthor.

I don't have an android device, but do you have a web based showcase what the interactive fiction would look like from LazyAuthor as well?

Really appreciate you digging into the site and reading up on LazyAuthor too. And yes, that "portable executable EPUB" framing is exactly the idea, glad it landed the way I intended.

I don't have a web-based showcase yet since it's Android-only right now, but that's a great suggestion for reaching people who can't install the app directly. I'll look into putting together a simple web demo.

In the meantime, happy to describe or share a video of how it works if that's useful.

There are many ways to customize the experience, and that's entirely up to the author. Publishing is also flexible - authors can publish anywhere they prefer, and can use QR codes to distribute their work. Through LazyAuthor, they can configure things like how many times a code can be scanned and revoke access if needed.
