This includes the use of Flaresolverr and Personal.ini changes. And it worked fine. It just suddenly stopped working without me changing anything. Or at least not that I’m aware of.

Note also that Calibre Tags and most tag-like custom columns also alphabetize automatically.

Use the sites 'download epub' option? FFF is a convenience, not a necessity for sites that have their own download option.

I've not read those blog posts before, but they look fundamentally correct.

Attached is a test version that will dump the fimf metadata html read to debug log.

True and i do. But i wanted to go the extra mile and do it like on this site:

Since it worked before i would have books with and without these extra infos. I could manually add them, but probably won't since that would take way too long.

You're being served a Cloudflare page. In German.

I have utterly no idea how being in a German speaking locale affects Cloudflare and Flaresolverr. But apparently it's at least a bit different.

Here's what I suggest:

• From where I am in the US, it sometimes helps if you access the site in browser before trying to download. That way the Cloudflare checks are already done once.
  
• Some people have had success changing their external facing IP address. For many home users, that means rebooting their cable modem.
  
• Some people have had success using a VPN to access from a different apparent locale.
  
• Switch to using BrowserCache.

I added this code under the Ao3 section of my personal ini and it stopped the category field from populating in Calibre. I wasn't sure if that's expected behavior or not.

include_in_fandoms:category

I don't have fandoms specified in the personal ini since it's in the default one. So I expected this to copy the category data to fandoms (while leaving category as is).

From defaults.ini:

## AO3 uses the word 'category' differently than most sites.  The
## adapter used to be hardcoded to include the site specific metadata
## fandom in the standard metadata field category.  By making it
## configurable, users can change it.
include_in_category:category,fandoms

The AO3 adapter doesn't populate category directly, it populates fandoms. By setting fandoms to take category's value, you've effectively emptied both.

tried your tipps and a view other things.
Open the sites Logged in or not did not work.
Switching everything to browserchache did not work. He opened the Browser and navigated the right website but failed nonetheless.
Modem gets switcht off every day -> didn't help.
Tried VPN "Hide.me" in free version. Tried USA and few other countrys, didn't work.

I even set up a new fresh installed pc. Only win 11, Calibre, FFF and flaresolverr.
Only the bare minimum setup with these Personal.ini addons from those 2 sites to get it to work on Fimfiction.net and flaresolverr.

+ I even tried it in the Office PC (Obviuosly only on break time (i.e. Different provider test in case im somehow flagged there?)

I ALWAYS get the ""AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'find'""


It's just so strange to me. Everything worked fine until it dind't.
Last thing i could do is wait until a new version of Flaresolverr is out and hope it gets fixed for Germans...

Since i live in Germany, it seems im out of luck until then.

If you can view the pages in browser, BrowserCache should work if correctly configured.

If you're getting an error about Chrome SQL cache, you can change the cache type to one that works.
