It might hit 33° for me today according to the forecast. Uggh. I don't do heat well - not muggy heat anyway.

Currently 33°C. A bit warm for an afternoon walk so I'm waiting for an evening walk.

Currently 24℃ (9am), but it's going to be another hot day today at 35℃, tomorrow's going to be even worse at 38℃. Last night was the hottest June night since recording started, but tonight will probably be even warmer.

On Saturday temperatures will start going down; 35℃, on Sunday around 29℃ and next week it'll be between 21℃ and 25℃, which sounds blissful.

But first we have to survive tomorrow. We're starting to restock then newly refurbished store. I'll have to wear jeans and sturdy shoes, but hopefully it's okay to wear a thin sleeveless shirt instead of the thick company polo shirt. We're in a basement and have air conditioning, hopefully it'll be relatively cool there. Just in case I'm bringing a cooling towel I can wear around my neck for it is warm.

"Dangerous" heat is returning - it's traditional to arrive for the July 4th week ... and not leave until October or so ...

Current forecast here is highs in the 18° to 22°C range in the first week of July with rain on about half the days.

OTOH, I am quoting the weather forecast. Any errors are expected.

Yesterday was hot, 39.7℃, so I was glad my sister had offered to drop me off and pick me up at work. It was warm and muggy in store, but a lot better than outside.

Today it was a bit cooler, and more cloudy. For tonight and through the night there's an amber weather warning for thunder storms and hail. One storm front has been passing to the west of us and I've been enjoying the lightning show. The current prediction is that we won't get hit until some time between 2 am and 3 am, but every time I check it changes how long it will last and how severe it's going to be. I'm going to try and stay up as long as possible so I can keep my windows open, because there's a good breeze and inside it's finally starting to cool down.

Tomorrow it'll still be warm, but it should stay below 30℃ and from Monday we're back to temperatures between 22℃ and 25℃, with nice cool nights. Hopefully not a lot of rain, so we can keep the windows open and let the house cool down.

It's cooled down. Yesterday it was 26℃, with a nice breeze and sunny. At work it had cooled down in comparison to Saturday, but it was still warm and humid. So when I got off work and went outside it was really nice and didn't mind the cycle trip home.

Today it should be a couple of degrees cooler and later today it'll get cloudy.

In other kinda related news; over the tills area at work there are windows but they were black out. During the refurbishment they removed that and we can now see outside. They'll be installing a UV filter, so when the sun shines we won't be blinded by it, but we can now see what the weather is like. In winter I felt a bit like a mole; I arrived in the dark and left when it was dark.

19°C and a mix of sun and cloud. Another nice day for a walk.

OTOH, I and another strata member are having a disagreement. A while back we were having a mouse problem and near as I could tell, they were accessing the units by going under the porch since the edge of the porch was not buried. I did the stuff steel wool into the crevice and then using a foam sealant over that. It seems to have been effective since we haven't seen a mouse inside in the last 9 months. OTOH, I admit it is not pretty.

The other strata resident wants me to remove the foam sealant since it is ugly and, in their opinion, dropping our property values. We now have an appointment before the next strata council meeting to discuss the matter with the property manager and a couple of the strata council members.

The heart of the issue goes back about 4 years when the porches and steps were re-done due to wear and tear. At that time, the original front of the porch had a lower treated wood board that was buried about 8 centimeters into the soil. The new build left that lower board off so the bottom of the front of the porch is not buried allowing mice and other pests easy access.

Start of annual July 4th heat wave - intense heat & humidity always rolls in the week of the 4th - and generally hangs around for months - high pressure domes remain stationary. Had my first episode of heat sickness caused by entering/exiting an air conditioned store back into the fiery hot parking lot.
