The Sony PRS-x50 (PRS-350 is 5″) series was the last non-Android. The ancient Android on the T1, T2 & T3 is of no advantage, and was a pointless change at the time for Sony. Short-lived too.

Older than the x50 series is now a bad idea.
[* The larger DPT models are not ereaders though they use eink screens]
I never found a problem with the T1.

(those have tried and tested)
the PRS-900 is trimmed down PRS-950 with lackluster display but 1 big advantage, you can actually change the battery rather easily (which on other models you cannot if not adept in electronics)

PRS-300 was one of very few 5" models that were ever available on an e-ink reader market. That one might be interesting to buy and try to revive. (*)
I still have mine and it still works. Never put a foot wrong its just that it has a small screen, page turns are slow (always have been) and no SD card. But it works.

Have you tried it with hi-resolution images? It can slow to a crawl or crash.

I've personally only ever noticed sluggishness and crashing in the 505. The same book opens and reads normally on the other old Sonys I have

The 650 was not great at hi-res images. It didn't crash, but it was quite slow.

You need a computer. A cell phone will not do.

If you wait to get a computer, chances are prices may go up even more.
