Extract embedded audio from ePub

I have an EPUB which opens fine both in Calibre on Mac and MapleRead on iPhone. The book has several embedded audio files which I can listen to on the Mac but not the iPhone. There is an option on the Mac to save each file but the button doesn't work. Can anyone tell me how to extract the audio files from the book so that I can put them separately on my iPhone and listen to them there? Many thanks.

I use Windows and Android, so I don't know if this is possible on a stupid Apple device, people with Apple seem to have the funniest problems with simple tasks according to what I read on the internet.
Just open the epub file as an archive, because that what it is. If the audio files are truly embedded and not just links to external files then you should find some mp3, ogg, opus or whatever audioformat was used inside the archive.
If the audio files are just linked inside the html files of the text you have to search the source code of these html files for these links and download the audio files on the internet.
On Windows you can use 7-zip, on Android Total Commander can open epub as ZIP: long press on the file, scroll down on the pop up and select "Open as ZIP".

You can select the book in calibre and press the U key and calibre will unpack it for you and open the unpacked files in your file explorer program.

Many thanks Gormagon - I used the Unarchiver app and was able to find the mp4 files that way - they were embedded. As someone who used Windows for decades before switching to the Mac, I'd say Windows is not without its issues too...
