Version 3.4 sent to AppStore (send to Kindle, improvements)

■ New features
- Send to Kindle feature: send any book straight to your Kindle.
- In-app Help Center: a full how-to guide now lives inside the app, reachable from both Home and Library.

■ Improvements
- The PDF reader's toolbar icons now match the size of the EPUB reader's, so moving between book types feels consistent.
- Calmer Library and Home screens: the tag and reading-streak entrance animations were removed, so your tags and streak flame appear instantly instead of animating in every time.
- Sheets that could briefly look blank: import and reader panels with nothing to show yet now display a clear empty state, so you're never left staring at an empty screen.
- The reader's brightness control now adjusts the correct display, including when your iPad is connected to an external screen.

■ Fixes
- Quickly tapping the bookmark button no longer risks saving the same bookmark twice: rapid taps now settle on a single bookmark.
- The Send-to-Calibre sheet can no longer be closed while a send is in progress, so the transfer always finishes and shows its result instead of being cut off partway.
- When an OPDS catalog needs a login, the sign-in prompt now appears on its own. A "couldn't load books" message no longer shows up stacked behind it.
- The highlight note preview no longer sits flush against the edge of the screen, it now has comfortable padding.

■ Accessibility
- VoiceOver can now read the PDF reading bar: your page, percentage, and pages left, and reach the page-jump button, matching what the EPUB reader already offered.
- Expanded VoiceOver labels and hints across the reader, the new Help Center, and the onboarding and import screens, plus larger, easier-to-hit search controls in the reader.
- Onboarding now respects Reduce Motion (screens cross-fade instead of sliding), setup errors in the Calibre and OPDS screens are spoken aloud, and decorative catalog logos are no longer announced as if they were content.

■ Localization
- 113 newly added strings are now natively translated across all 15 supported languages.

I ran into what looks like a bug in the notes editor and I did a screen recording to send to you, but I'll wait until this new update comes through to see if the problem still exists.

Hi Loosheesh, as 3.4 was not yet approved for review in Apple, I rejected the submission and fix the bug (more details in email).
So 3.4, once in the AppStore will have this fixed.

Been a longtime MapleRead user and read about this app so I thought I'd try it. The Home and Library views look great! And the Calibre support is just right for me since I only use epub readers for fanfic. I'm very impressed by how easy it is to update epubs via OPDS since the app is able to track which ones have been changed. I didn't notice an option to change the sort option when viewing your Calibre library, but it doesn't matter since I can just select all books that are new/changed.

I also really like that the book lists allow tags to be swiped to view all of them. I was missing this feature on MapleRead. Grid view also looks much better on this one.

Something I noticed with the epub rendering is this app seems to not like the hr tag without the slash symbol whereas other epub readers I've used including MapleRead have no issues with this. justRead would return with a rendering error because of the opening and closing tag mismatch between <hr> and another element. Easy fix is to edit the epub and change <hr> to <hr/>, but I have a lot of books that need the hr tag fixed.

Will there also be a cheaper lifetime option in the future? I quite liked the option with MapleRead where users could buy a version of the app that had less features but was still good enough for their use-case. The Calibre support/OPDS feature is an essential one for me.

Hi Culytera, thank you very much for the feedback and let's go to answers.
1. Can you please send me a book with those <hr> rendering errors, you can scramble it in Calibre using scramble plugin. And maybe even a screenshot, so I will immediately know, what to look at. Please use support(at)justread.app email.
2. There is and will be only one version, as it will be very hard to decide, what should be in stripped one (because for one person this is important and must be in the basic version, for the other person something completely different).

In next version I will be adding that media overlay (audio in epub), which is done and ready for two-day testing.
And because I added audio playback with controls to the app (because of this), I am thinking to add support for audiobooks, even before that kokoro TTS.

Possible audiobook support alongside TTS is exciting news. If they both work well, it would eliminate 2-3 other apps for me. (But I would've liked TTS support first

Quick info, that <hr> problem is fixed.
And for that audio... for those 'media overlay epubs' I added player, controls and everything around: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=374018 , so natural step is to add those audio books, because a big part of it (palyback, controls, etc.) is already done, so this can be done faster.

TTS is planned for July and I think it will land there.
