You probably have file extensions hidden on your new computer. URLLink ones are ACSM files and should open in ADE, others should be epubs and you can add those directly to calibre.

If you have ADE setup to be able to download DRMed ePub, then in the option for ASCM Input, you can have it automatically pull the ADE account info that you need.

How do I do ths please?
Am really stuck as cannot use calibre anymore
acsm are downloaded to downloads now and are massive long titles and adobe takes ages to load..
Asked google how to associate acsm files but cannot find how to do it or where they are.

ACSM files are the ones named URLLink. Right-click on it and select Open with..., then select Adobe Digital Editions.

Those with massive long titles are probably straight epub files. Just add them to calibre.

Tried that but Adobe Digital Editions freezes straightaway.
Yes I have read all the replies
Some I understand some not
Am trying so hard to solve this.
Resetting my comuter has brought many problms. I have done it in the past and its always been fine.

Another solution is to add the ACSM plugin to calibre, then you won't need Adobe Digital Editions. Go to Preferences -> Plugins -> Get new plugins and select the ACSM Input plugin. After installing it, you'll need to enter your Adobe account credentials in the plugin settings. And then you can add the acsm files directly to calibre, no need to use Adobe Digital Editions anymore.

But cannot finda new book I have just download to add straight to calibre anyway

But have noticed if I try to add a new book tey all have a plain flowery cover

Don't seem to be getting anywhere with calibre since I reset my pc
Ade will not import new books and as I opened calibre today all my books had vanished

I still have my old books backed up.
But wonder if there is a simple library program.instaed of calibre I can use instead?

Before you reset your computer, did you backup for ADE library? Did you unregister ADE?

Unfortunately it seems you need someone to be physically present at your computer to help you.

As to there being another library program, there are a few. I don't know how simple they are, though. And they won't remove the DRM from your purchases anyway, so they won't be useful in that regard.

Did you ever restore the original Settings folder you had copied?

Plugins store their configuration data in this folder including the various DRM plugins (such as those to process ADE and Kindle).
