Black Friday in June applies to quite a few stores. I've only listed major tech stores for the tech devices needed to access digital content.

Many stores with membership plans are allowing members early access to the main sale.

Some stores with membership plans are offering discounts on those memberships.

Some stores are offering price protection for purchases made in sales leading up to BF in June.

The term "Black Friday in July" was coined by journalists in reference to Amazon's first Prime Day in July 2015. Since then, other retailers have joined in with their own sales.

Because of the pandemic, Amazon moved Prime Day to October in 2020. Then in June 2021, it moved Prime Day up a couple of weeks to boost its Q2 performance. Now in 2026, Amazon is bumping up Prime Day a couple of weeks into June again. As a result, other stores are following suit. IOW, Amazon sets the dates for this major summer sale.
