I like "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" as much as the next guy, but $11.99 for a 22 page short-story must be the most expensive price-per-page I've ever seen! |

Books that are longlisted for the Booker and they're lousy. Not "not to my taste" lousy, but objectively lousy.

I dislike it when good writers decide to write outside their usual genre without taking the time to understand how to write in the new genre.
I like murder mysteries. I like SF. I like mysteries with SF elements and SF with a mystery element. But ONLY when both parts are done well. |

This is too funny. Among other books, I'm currently reading an edition of Marie Antoinette's correspondence with her mother, Maria Theresa. The only book that Goodreads cites as other readers also enjoying is Hillbilly Elegy!
I think I'll pass, just the same. |
