I use the Proba Pro font family on all my devices in the Librera and KOReader apps as main font, see attached an example of Proba Pro Regular. Sometimes I use MetroBlackLT-Two for Headings in Librera.

Nice looking font for a sans-serif font.

You might want to try Literata Book. It's Literata with less padding so it looks better on an ereader.

Someone here took a slightly newer version of Literata and did the same thing. Their font is called Scriptoria and it is pretty much the only font I use.

ChareInk7SP has been updated. There are two additions to the different styles. One of them has a smaller line height for KF8 on a Kindle and the other has the smaller line height for a Kindle but has smaller letters.

I've tried the version with the smaller line height and smaller font size on a PW3 and it looks quite good. I need to try this variation on my Libra 2.

I started with Bookerly for a while before switching to Bitter for the next long while. Had a break from reading and after I came back, been using (and loving) Xcharter the most. For "tech" books, I tend to like using either Seravek or publisher default (depending on book).

After I started reading more again, some of the books I read are English books that have non-English characters so I rule out any fonts that doesn't have any characters for my specific books.

I find slab serif fonts are rather terrible for reading with. Why Amazon chose such awful fonts on the Kindle, I'll never know. Why do they think that Bookerly is a good font? It's not.

Isn't Charis SIL / ChareInk a slab serif font?

I have seen Charis SIL referred to as a slab serif though like it's ancestral Bitstream Charter, I consider it more of a transitional serif font with the tapered appearance of the serifs and the rounding where they join. Time to stop before I get all boring with maundering about the increased weight in vertical lines such as the bowls of lower case letters, etc.

I've attached images of Bookerly, Charis SIL and Baskerville fonts to allow comparing them.

Comparing Baskerville to Charis SIL, I can see a number of differences and I prefer Charis SIL.

Bookerly is a good font because when I read with it my eyes are happy. That's all.

I tried several fonts but I always return to Bookerly.

More than 20 fonts have been mentioned. That’s fine. And I could add a few more. Different people, different preferences. Personally, I don’t have a favourite (‘Georgia’ is probably the one I use most, but I’m comfortable with many others). I use several interchangeably. The only criterion is that I feel comfortable reading on the various reading programmes and e-readers I use. And I’ve never managed that with just a single font. So I always have a varied selection of fonts on each e-reader and I switch between them (Georgia, PT Serif, Literata, Bookerly, Caecilia, Merriweather...)

Whereas for me, I find reading with Bookerly annoys my eyes. OTOH, as long as we can choose the fonts that we prefer, de gustibus non disputandum est.

Or put another way chacun à son gout? I agree fonts are very personal. Like @Zodwallop I favour scriptoria.
