As an update to my post, my Clara BW is responding very nicely now. No freezing on waking with the Smart Cover, and no freezing with the remote in use. I'm rather happy with it.... but I'd appreciate it more if it had buttons natively.

After reading that the update did not affect KOReader, I powered on my Libra Colour and ran "check for updates" twice - "your ereader is up to date":

Thanks. I realised after posting that it had most likely been puleed, will wait for the fix. I was interested in the comments that the epub size issue seemed to have been addressed. Hope the next update won't be tpp far away

Weird behavior today.

I side loaded some books from Calibre and ejected. My KOBO than rebooted itself and didn't load any of the books. I tested the database with KOBO utilities, and it wasn't corrupted. I then loaded the books again and ejected, and they took.

However, when I went to connect to my WIFI, the device had forgotten my WIFI password, so I had to reenter it again. That was a first.

I don't know if these are related to this firmware as I'm running the latest version available for my Clara B&W.

I had the same issue with my shine 5. I fixed the problem with conversion firmware.
1-) Switch to kobo mode from developer settings.
2-) Install this firmware: https://ereaderfiles.kobo.com/firmwa...8/KoboRoot.tgz
3-) After the restart do not update, if you are in the set up screen select the language and plug your eReader to PC and install this downgrade firmware: https://github.com/notmarek/KoboToli...ges/update.tar
4-) After that you should be able to update to latest version with no problem.

Firmware 4.45.23640 has been pulled by Kobo. You could have run into why it's been pulled.

That's what I'm guessing. This is the first time I've had an issue with this update. The good news is that my database isn't corrupt.

Hopefully, another update comes out soon.

You can manually install the previous firmware if you want.

The URL to get the previous firmware is at https://pgaskin.net/KoboStuff/kobofirmware.html

You just unzip the contents to the .kobo directory and after you eject, the Kobo will start the install.
