How to reboot Kobo with screenshots on?

My device sometimes freezes and needs rebooting. Just wondered what I should do if this happens with 'power button makes screenshots' on. I usually keep it off but might forget to switch.

Just hold the power button. Just tried on my Libra Colour and after about 10 seconds it powered down

Somebody posted a NickelMenu entry that takes a screenshot directly, instead of changing the functionality of the power button, but I can't find it at present.

For the Libra Colour, Clara Colour or Clara BW, under developer options, you can enable Enable reading engine capture button. It does put a rather annoying icon on the screen which you tap to do a capture. The screen captures is stored in ./.kobo/reading-engine-captures in a tar.gz file. Opening it and digging down you find a capture.png file. The first attached image is from the power button screenshot to show the icon while the second is from tapping the icon.

You can also with the latest version (v6.0 or newer) of NickelMenu, add a direct screen capture function:

You will need to import books to see that screenshot in your library.

On a Libra 2 with screenshots on, a long press over the power button will still restart the device, as I've found on far, far too many occasions.

Sadly with the Libra H2O the developer option not work. But I try the long-press.

Sort of. After a while the screen dimmed and the second time it worked.

The screen dimming is the forced power off from the long press. A second press will power your Kobo back on.

Ah, I was expecting it to turn screen off entirely

The button hold down is basically the same as pulling the power cord from your PC; it's a hard power off bypassing any OS shutdown routines.
