I didn't get notified of a Kobo firmware upgrade for my device

I'm pretty sure there was a feature in the past the notified me of firmware updates for my Kobo Libra H2O. I think I even performed the firmware update using Calibre.
I haven't received firmware update in a very long while. I finally performed the November firmware update yesterday OTA. I may have turned the option off, but yesterday I tried looking for the option but couldn't find it. Was it part the Kobo extended driver that's no longer supported?
Also, I couldn't find an option to manually check for firmware update.

I'm using the latest Calibre version (v9.2.1).

Kobo (the site) did something about a year (+) ago that disabled that check.
You CAN go to https://pgaskin.net/KoboStuff/kobofirmware.html and grab a copy the manual way.
(There is a how to at the top)

And keep an eye on the MR Kobo forum. Someone announces when a new one appears (

Wait a few days, just in case they oops'd )

I'm well aware of those alternative, thank you. It was just this thing the stopped working that I got curious about.
