problems with installation of calibre in linux

installed calibre 9.2.1
linux mint 22.1
I get following startscreen : see attached printscreen
no readable letters

Try changing the font in Calibre from the Appearance preferences. For reference, it's the text box in the center of the window with a button to the right to select the font.

The strange thing is that the library icon and the book list appear legible.

In preferences I can not find anything about font of letters.
About library icon and the book list appear legible this came after I could change the path of the directory of "calibre bibliotheek" to the previous one

Also check the Language on that screen, the errors are in the translatable constants within the code.

It is solved thanks to your help.
I installed calibre on my w11 laptop in order to see which settings were different between settings on my desktop linux.
There was no language set on desktop during installation.
Once I set my language it was working properly.
