I had a Fitbit watch before the Garmin, but after I first got it, there was a period of nearly six months where keeping it connected to my phone was a nightmare. Eventually that settled, with a firmware update, and I liked it well enough, but after two years, the battery started to fail. And I just couldn't deal with the idea of a new one and possibly having to go through a connection nightmare again.

I had also hoped to be able to load music on the Fitbit, but the device just wouldn't connect properly to WiFi and Fitbit didn't have a USB means of transfer for music to the watch.

The Garmin has been flawless in both Fitbit trouble areas, and more accurate on reporting heart rate as well.

Anyway, sorry to hear about the final failure of your Kindle tablet, but it's good you can give the Libra Colour a tryout. Change can be a good thing and one just doesn't know until one gives something a chance!

Maybe a Nook is in your future. It's a good alternative to the Kindle.

Hi All, if anyone is still following. Now that I'm through the holidays, I'm going to start looking for another e-reader. I sent the Kobo Libra Colour back, I really felt it was too much of a change for me. I just need to take my time looking. I am totally without my old kindle. The last straw was the screen blinking black while I was trying to get into one of the books/authors that were recommended.

I will start looking on Amazon, where I like buying things, and let you know when I decide. For now I'm still listening to books on my Android. Glad I have that, for now.

Hope everyone is doing well, and I wish you all a Happy New Year

Hi Randall, I almost missed your reply, glad I saw it! My first reader was a Nook, how I loved it. I was so disappointed when they discontinued, but I saw the other day they are selling them now!! That's a super option. Do they still use, I think it was, Barnes and Noble?? It's been so long, I can't recall. I think I still have that Nook, I'll look and see.

Do you have one now? I'll check some videos on them, but you are welcome to let me know about yours, denise

I'll look back, all I remember really is was called a Nook. I think it may still be listed on my purchases, don't know Amazon goes that far back. I don't remember why I stopped using it, something changed for getting books on it I even remember coming here and asking if there were ways to save my books I purchased.

You'll need a "red marker" with lots of ink if you are going to catch all the mistakes I make, denise

Maybe you're right Sirel, but this is what I had. I didn't fully understand what was happening, but I suspect it had to do with Barnes and noble, the reason why I "thought" I couldn't use it any longer.

Amazon purchases only go back to 2015 it looks like, so I don't know when I bought my Nook, but it was before 2015, that's all I know. I'm going to look right now to see if I still have it, denise https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barnes_%26_Noble_Nook

Wink

I finally was able to get the numbers off the back of my Nook, using my "much welcome" magnifying glass. Here they are, maybe someone can tell me when I bought it?
It won't charge, it was never store anywhere outside, but I imagine the battery is quite dead after all these years.

ID - XHHBNTV250A IC - 8961A BNTV250A

From my Wiki I found it looks like B and N still is works with Amazon, not sure, just was interesting to read the Wiki. I know all the info might not be exactly right, but I realize now, I maybe could have gone on using it longer, instead of getting a Kindle.

Main thing is, I've had many hours of reading, and no, heavy books to move around. And I moved around a lot. Always looking for greener grass as they say

That's the Nook tablet, yes, not one of their e-ink readers.

Great, you're batting 1000 Sirtel and, I got it in or around 2011, that's what I wanted to know. Been reading books on these "devices" for many years, never looked back!
