Authors Calibre to Exel in a CSV file

I have a library in Calibre with a lot of different authors.
How can I put these authors in a CSV file so I can access them in Excel?
One record per author.
I'm not a professional, so I don't understand everything. Please use simple language.

Cool

Right-click on Convert Books -> Create Catalog, select the csv format and check the fields you want. You can't do it one record per author this way, though. Maybe there's another way.

Not sure I understand the OP intent, but it reminds me what @chaley implemented here:

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=19

To use it, make a stored template named whatever you want -- I use "get_one_book_per_field_value".

BTW chaley has a great gift of simplifying instructions. For beginners, I would add this: to make a stored template, you need to open Preferences -> Template Functions.

After creating the stored template, paste this into calibre's search box then run the search:
Code:
template:"""program: get_one_book_per_field_value('authors')#@#:b:yes"""
(then create the catalog as Sirtel instructed)

Thanks for the information, it works but if there are more books from an author, I get more of the same records whit the author's name.

Is it possible to change that

Sorry for my english

No, it isn't possible, unless you follow Comfy.n's instructions.

It is good so, I have a list of all authors and by import to Exel I was able to have the duplicates removed.
The number of authors is nov exactly correct.

I wish you all a verry good Christmas and a happy 2026
