Kindle KOReader EPUB not visible [help]

Hiyo!

I just installed KOReader on an Amazon Paperwhite... 5? I think. I tried side-loading EPUBs to it via USB yesterday, but they are not visible in the file I put them in. The odd thing is that they are visible when I search .epub in the KOReader seach bar. I can even open them, but only from the search function!

I heard that KOReader doesn't like having to drill down really far into the file directory to view books, so I put all the EPUBs into one folder, and tried moving the folder everywhere I could think of in the file directory, but still nothing. I then tried converting them in Calibre to a new .epub with different metadata settings and transfering those to the kindle (USB) but that didn't work either. Also for some reason Calibre puts every book in its own file folder, layering like four folders to get to the epub (still not visible in KOReader).

A previous post said that it might be an issue with the metadata filename when converted in Calibre, but I don't think this is an issue with the metadata. Is there a setting I need to change on KOReader or Calibre to make them show up in the file directory without having to search for them?

I'm going to try converting them to different file formats after work tonight and see if those are visible, but it really baffles me that they aren't visible in the file directory.

Any suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

If you long press on the search result within KOReader, what is the path shown at the top of the box that opens?

(KOReader doesn't mind books being deep in the folder structure, but many users don't like navigating many folders and that's why they prefer to keep them relatively flat. However, you can always organize books in collections that are automatically updated by folder, or save direct shortcuts to folders.)

Hi! Thanks for the response!
The file path for it was the /mnt/us/Books/(title of book), which was incredibly frustrating. I also only did the *Search Current Folder* option instead of the whole device to double check that they were really where I thought they should be. If I opened one of the books from the search, it would show up in the Books folder without cover in the mosaic setting. It seemed like they were invisible to the normal file management system for some reason and opening it triggered the local metadata to save in a way that triggered them to be partly visible.

I eventually fixed the problem by deleting all the KOReader files off the device (basically uninstalling it), then going to Kindle Forge and using that to download and install the KOReader app. Now all the files show up just fine! It was a really weird bug.
