The larger screen has more contrast with the light off.

Except significantly less so in the second pair of images, once I'd bumped p the boldness a notch. Which is an ancillary point, it seems to me, and made above; why apply arbitrary standards in comparing devices when changing the settings results in a similar appearance? I originally used the exact same settings because I didn't know where else to start in a comparison. There are infinite (well, effectively
) possibilities. I could have tried emboldening once more but I'm done taking pictures, which is obviously not part of my skill set. As an aside, I personally don't get not using the sidelight when using the light would result in a sharper text. There's a major difference between enhancing the text with a little added light and a glary screen, but people want what they want. Ultimately this was interesting to me in that clarity of text didn't seem to be the dealbreaker in deciding between the devices. The text on the left was good enough (and could be better still, once you twiddled with the settings to your taste). At least no one said it was awful or unreadable. Size matters, warm light matters. And price! Anyway, thanks all for indulging me. I could keep wittering on but I'm having one of those days when a random touch wipes out everything I've typed, so I'm going to quit now. |

Though in the time when I did on-site support it always amazed me that most screens were on default (too bright, set for showroom) settings. Same too on the software. |

Sometimes the reason for that might be developing cataracts, with older people. Not with the young, of course.

But as for sizes, other than how it will be confortable or less weighted (if between those two models that it could even be perceptible), there is the fact that, as I guess you read alot , on the smaller one it seems you'll have to click forward very, very often. If the model is even slighty slow, that would feel very annoying imho.Edit: comparing devices by pics or videos, as it was mentioned, is difficult, also because it's not easy to take the pics, and also because even in the best made pics, the center (in this case the right part of the left screen, and viceversa) might be more in focus than the rest part of the screens. Really my takeaway is simply that both devices are good enough as far as clarity goes, so if you had to choose between them other factors would be more important. |

By the pics it can't really be felt how it does them looks, also if those are the ones within lower dpi, imho you can try having a crisp other by comparison too, as the devices can be nicely readable, but near a highter dpi, the latter is rather a pleasure to see. Errata: or they are the ones from 6,8" and 7", so a difference between e-ink Carta 1200, Carta 1300 (and not Kaleido 3 )?.
