Yes, in that sense. But they are only "robots" to make the format of the mystery work, unlike the robots in the later Asimov stories that are more like Star Trek's Data.

I think this description makes it seem as if the mystery is a generic one, and ther robots were added in later to solve a problem the author was having. This isn't the case. The robots and their "robotness" (following the Three Laws of Robotics) are at the center of the mystery.

I agree this is nothing like Asimov's later robot stories.

The Innkeeper's Song by Peter S. Beagle is £3 in the UK (Kobo, Amazon)
Quote:
This is the story of three women.

The first is brought back from the dead, and follows her saviour to adventure.

The second is seeking the sorcerer who trained her, who has disappeared without a trace.

The third is running from assassins and hiding her own deep secrets.

Three mysterious women, with their own power and stories. A missing sorcerer. A magical fox. A heartbroken fiance, a besotted stable boy, and an Innkeeper dealing with the strangest guests he has ever encountered.

I bought that earlier on Kobo when it was on sale. It's excellent. IMO better than the Last Unicorn or The Folk of the Air.

Trying to find the same entry on the Kobo US store....what is this garbage?

There are two listings for the book from different publishers:
https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the...-KNFA9i&cPos=1
https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/inn...-KNFA9i&cPos=2

To say nothing of the exorbitant price difference ($13.99 USD would be about £10.59).

The fact that I have to seriously consider traveling to the UK to buy a book by a US author is a joke.

It's a regular occurrence that the sales in the uk aren't going on in the states, and the reverse.

My complaint isn't so much about the sale as the listing price difference. Even the non-sale price of the book on the UK store would be about $7 USD, roughly half what it retails for over here.

The new US edition is by Saga Press, and it's possible it will go on sale in the future.
I'm surprised the old edition is still available for sale - I doubt they have the rights for it. Anyway, I always avoided it because I was worried about OCR typos and such.

The Kobo Preview of the old one looked like crap. So I guess I'll just add the Saga Press to my watchlist and hope it drops.

Kobo UK has it under Peter S. Beagle [The 'S.' is important] for only £2.99

The publisher is Gateway, I believe.
