Some of my unfavourite people. The idiot who stops at the intersection on a red light and waits for the light to change. Drives into the intersection, hits the brakes, starts a turn and then starts signalling the turn. Local law says at city speeds, you must signal 30 metres before the turn, at highway speeds, you must signal 150 metres before the turn.

I remember one time when commuting to work with a co-worker, they started counting the lane changes done by one vehicle. Over the 5km we were near them, they did 23 lane changes and moved from 2 vehicles behind me to 5 vehicles ahead before taking a exit. I figure they saved at least 14 seconds!

People who believe it's ok to block the outlet of dead-end streets for anything other than an emergency.

They are the same who think you can park illegally, obstruct one lane on a narrow road at a blind bend etc to nip into a shop 1 minute walk from a car park. Sometimes they put on their hazard lights.

I've lost count of the number of times I have been run off the road by drivers that decide to change into my lane mid-turn.

I remember when I was in a friend's car turning from Austin Ave. onto North Road north bound using the leftmost of the two left hand turn lanes. The idiot in the rightmost left turn lane turned into the leftmost left turn lane wiping out the passenger side of Jeff's car. Spent an interesting 15 minutes with the idiot insisting that it was all Jeff's fault. When the RCMP arrived and talked to the drivers and passengers plus the driver of the car that was behind us, they issued the idiot a ticket for changing lanes during a turn. This made it easy for ICBC (insurance company) to assign him 100% of the blame.

Since then, the safety of that intersection has been improved by removing one of the left turn lanes.

Users who whine "but we haven't been trained on that", and when you offer training, can't manage to find time to actually take in their oh so busy schedules. And then whine again the next time they can't figure out how to do the most basic things "but we never got any training". Give me a ****ing break, baby. Especially when the bone dead simple software actually comes with a whole suite of video tutorials that you could have watched at any time in the last 3 months. <Now headed to "What's in my cup" for the rest of this rant>

Not necessarily true depending on the particulars of the "I" and the "vehicle," but more to the point, if the space is legal, then it seems more the fault of the city planners than the driver.

I'm not talking about parking. I'm talking about blocking. As in a trailer in a driveway still hooked up to a truck that is perpendicularly blocking the entire road. All because they didn't want to be bothered to unhook the trailer and legally "park" the truck while they emptied all the crap from their garage onto the trailer.

I stand 100% by my "blocking is blocking" statement. No illegal roadblock is better than any other illegal roadblock. If I can't get through this street with my vehicle, then the road is blocked. There is no way to legally park on this street AND simultaneously block it to traffic.

Besides... it's my rant. Nobody gets to 'splain it away.

I saw this just yesterday too. A car illegally parked in a driving lane, with hazards on, with the driver out and having a nice conversation in someone's front lawn. A someone with an empty driveway that looked like a lovely place to park while visiting. But then that would involve needing to use reverse at some point.
