Hey,
I'm getting an error on ao3 with failed to login on locked stories (those only for logged in users). I get the text filed where I should fill in username and password, even if those are in personal.ini. And that text field reappears every time I fill it out, until I choose cancel multiple times.
For non locked stories the same, those only work, if I set stay alway logged in to false in personal.ini

And for non locked anthologies I have to edit username, password and always logged in out.
The locked ones work with browser cache as a work around for now.

I too ran into the same problem. Now any restricted words will pop up the log in window, even though I have added said log in details inside the personal.ini.

I was able to download them fine yesterday, so maybe this is an AO3 issue?

I'm getting the login pop-up for ALL stories on Ao3, whether they're locked or not, even though my login details are configured in personal.ini.

I wonder if the ao3 thing is some sort of timing issue. If I have a list of previously failed to download stories I will get the user id and password prompt on one of them and the others in the list download. That is at least how I'm getting some stuff down at the moment. I just have to track the one that failed. (this is happening on the latest and previous versions of FFF as I ran into the issue, updated and still had the issue 4.49.0. I'm not running a test version yet.)

Those look like only partial logs, there's no end or error. If that's really all you get, I'd worry about fundamental things like bad memory, running out of disk space, etc.

It was a problem on my end. A restart (that required cutting power to the computer) fixed it.

I've haunted this forum for a long time, always found the answers I needed. But finally signed up because I am seriously at my wits end:

I have over 100 "in-progress" stories in calibre I've imported from AO3 using FFF, and I've been updating fine until earlier this year. The "is_adult:true" and "alwys_login:true" fixes worked for a while. Now, I can't update anything. I am very much hoping I've just done something dumb that is easy to fix, but if that's the case, I can't figure it out.

No more login error with the test version, but now I'm getting a 503 Server error when using archiveofourown.gay

And when I turn off the ao3.gay setting in personal.ini, I'm getting an "Unhandled Exception" error for "KeyError: 'href' " instead.

Both errors are 'fixed' when I use "Download from URLs" instead of "From Page", but it's not ideal when I'm wanting to download a couple dozen bookmarks

The 403 error you are getting suggests you are being blocked. If you generated a bunch of traffic at once (like trying to update 100+ stories at one time?) it could happen.

I suggest you try:

Turn off use_archiveofourown_gay (they might have different block lists)
Set slow_down_sleep_time higher than the default 4
Download in smaller batches if you do get it working

Failing that, you could try Browser Cache instead. See https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFa...oblematicSites and https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFa...erCacheFeature

And, as always, you can still download AO3's version of the epub from the site.

I'm not seeing this. Can you provide example URL and a debug log?

Update:

I removed use_archiveofourown_gay but nothing changed; I set slow_down_sleep_time to 6 but nothing changed; I tried small batches and one at a time, nothing changed.

Randomly, I commented out "always_login:true" and it worked, but only for unlocked fic (natch).

I mean, it's working, sorta. My question is, does this suggest that my user profile is blocked? Obviously not my IP since it worked without logging in. Is this something I should put in a ticket with AO3 for?

If I have a list of previously failed to download stories I will get the user id and password prompt on one of them and the others in the list download. That is at least how I'm getting some stuff down at the moment. I just have to track the one that failed. (this is happening on the latest and previous versions of FFF as I ran into the issue, updated and still had the issue 4.49.0. I'm not running a test version yet.)
