I just watched Law & Order, the last episode of Season 8 (Jamie Ross's [Carey Lowell] last episode as a regular character) and the first two episodes of Season 9 (where Abbie Carmichael [Angie Harmon] debuts).

I've been watching some movies this week that Diane Keaton stars in or is part of anensemble cast. I'm in the middle of Woody Allen's 1978 Interiors, a drama. It is good, but there are so many commercials (why I can write this while it's on commercials) that it is disjointed for me.
Monday I watched The Family Stone (Diane Keaton, Craig Nelson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Claire Danes and others). 2005. Good cast, everyone is pretty, nice clothes, beautiful house, Christmas film. It wasn't at all moving for me. It didn't help that I was starting prep for colonoscopy afterwards (I stopped it 11 minutes from the end to start prep and watched the ending a few hours later). It was set in a fictitious New England town and there was snow. Wednesday evening I watched And So It Goes (2014): Michael Douglas, Diane Keaton. I enjoyed this comedy more. It was light. I was moved by the end. Set in Connecticut. Wednesday I also watched the first episode of season 1 of Northern Exposure. (Rob Morrow.) I used to watch it on TV when it aired, but this was the first time seeing the first episode that sets up why he was practicing medicine in small-town Alaska. I will continue watching. I'd been meaning to watch it since Amazon got it a few years ago. I watch a lot of youtube, some political podcasts on it, livestreams of youtubers walking around in New York City and beyond, and some vlogs about handbags (very materialistic but a good escape from USA politics). I need to watch the political ones, because mainstream media here are mostly stenographers for the White House. I also catch parts of Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on youtube. |

Watched Revenge Of The Sith tonight. I know the Star Wars prequels trilogy gets a lot of hate but I quite enjoy them. I think they build on the universe of Star Wars well and they are a good mix Star Wars 'politics' and action sequences - the fight between Obi Wan and Anakin in Revenge Of The Sith is some of the best Lightsaber dueling in Star Wars in my opinion. At least it isn't the latest Star Wars Trilogy

Doing a rewatch of Stephen King's Rose Red. Still enjoyable, although a bit dated.
We also watched the documentary The Perfect Neighbor on Netflix tonight, we both found it very interesting. For someone who proclaims not to be interested in true crime, my sister does enjoy a good crime documentary. |

We enjoyed Acorn's Irish Blood but it left a lot of loose ends so hope a S2 is in the works. Now finishing up an old Cinemax spy thriller Hunted...
Edit> So Hunted went off the rails at the end - maybe got canceled at the last minute so they tried to do a fast wrap-up, but it was half fast at best. We watched 2 eps of Prime's Countdown but it's now been canceled so I doubt if we'll bother finishing... Last edited by cc_in_oh; 10-19-2025 at 07:52 PM. |

Watching the final episode of Battlestar Galactica (2004). Still a great show even for the third watch through. This time in Bluray, but I have realised I should have saved my money and stuck with the DVD version. The graininess is worse on the bluray.

I have watched more movies that Diane Keaton acted in. Tonight I started Crimes of the Heart (1986) with Sissy Spacek, Jessica Lange, Keaton, Sam Shepard, Tess Harper (I thought she looked like Cameron Diaz). I stopped about 40 minutes in and will finish tomorrow. There were no titles available for this one, and at times I didn't hear everything with their southern accents (fake for some of them). Also a lot of loud shrieking, so I had to change the volume several times. Down for the squealing and up for the quiet conversations.
I watched Darling Companion (2012) a few nights ago. Keaton, Kevin Kline, Elizabeth Moss, Dianne Wiest, Richard Jenkins. I was doing other things on the computer at the same time, so I had to rewind to figure out how there was a wedding so close to the beginning of the movie after the couple met (missed the "One Year Later" caption). The dog runs away and gets lost, so there is a lot of searching with a whistle. That was aggravating for my sensibilities. Keaton's character berates her husband a lot in this one. (He's a doctor, kind of self absorbed, but please.) Watched a lot of youtube tonight. Had to wallow in the destruction of the White House this week and promises to add an oversized, ugly building there. |

I've seen all of Law & Order except the latest episode. I remember borrowing the blu-ray of the series from the library so I could binge to catch up.

I've been watching Fire Country season 3 so I can start on season 4 and also Sheriff Country. I have one episode to go. I'll finish that later today or tomorrow.
