Because you posted them (or at least some of them) twice - first with the number that wouldn't get them auto-updated and then with the corrected number. It was the first version BetterRed meant (or at least I assume he did).

It's certainly nice of you to post the updated plugins. I also use some of those not working with 8.12.

It was said in the original thread about the issue that the .1 I added to the version numbers wasn't going to work with the update system.

Now if it's an issue with the newly updated version numbers, why not just say so and I can go back instead of wanting them deleted?

It isn't an issue with the newly updated numbers. It was an issue of both versions having been posted. The first version with the additional 1 was redundant once the corrected version had been posted.

Maybe you already deleted those versions with the additional .1, I haven't checked.

The problem was that in one of the plugin threads, I was unable to edit the first post with the plugin. I did edit it today.

I'll just leave things as is for now.

Jon, in the past when multiple versions of a plugin have been left lying around in a plugin thread users have picked up the wrong one… and then reported problems already fixed.

Which is why I asked you, politely, to remove the defunct zip.

I was unable to. The system would not allow me to remove it. I was able to remove it today though.

Unfortunately, the quality check plugin still does not appear in the main toolbar. When I try to add it again to the main toolbar, I do not find it in the list of possible actions.
When I go to preferences - plugins, the plugin is installed.
Do I still need to rollback to calibre 8.11.1 to use quality check?

Either rollback to 8.11.1, or install JSWolf's amended version attached to post #1258 in this thread… problem is due to changes in the libraries calibre uses.

Unfortunately, you don't want Kiwidude's version of 1.14.3 in GitHub; rather you need JSWolf's 1.14.3 from this post https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...postcount=1258 which was based on kiwidude's 1.14.2 rather than the code in kiwidude's repository that includes support for action chains.

Ah...I hadn't realised there were two different versions with the same version number.
I have now installed the version 1.14.3 posted by JSWolf (post #1258), and it all works again. Cool. That makes my life a little bit easier, when working on books, as I use this plugin quite a bit.

I've no idea. Kiwidude never released to MobileRead that version. Again, it's his call
