PRS-T2 Hacking the T2

Dear Friends am new to this forum
Previously I had jailbroken my Kindle K5 sucessfully with the help of this forum
Many Thanks

Now I wish to do the same with my recently purchased PRS-T2
Its firmware version is 1.1.00.17210 which is the lates european version
I tried to jailbreak/root the device but no success
please guide me as if it is possible to jealbreak the given firmware version?

Hi,

Newbie here.

2 questions:

1. Is there any limitation in using the Kindle app, except for perhaps a diff Kindle version due to Android OS.

2. Can the Android OS support other language? In my case that would be Traditional Chinese.

I know that this post is old...
I have tryed to search about how to root (jailbreak) my T2.

unfortely I have a T2 with firmware 1.1.x and I have read that sony has closed the possible to root it.

But are there really no way to root it?

Is it right that there is no possibility to put android-apps (jailbreak) on the PRS-T2
any more as (nearly) all byable, used PRS-T2 have Version 1.0.05.12140 on it and not 1.0.04.11081
and there is no way meanwhile in 2025 to jailbreak it any more (even no RS232 pad on the board)?

I wanted to install dolphin browser to have https but as jailbreak does not work any more I realy again bought rubbish.

But as used Boox reader are extremely expensive does there not exist any cheap alternative?

Browsing is good on colour e-ink monitors connected to a desktop OS. I'm using a Dasung to type this on my Mac. The exception being video which I flip to a conventional screen for with a hotkey.

Of the android readers recent colour Boox with BSR do an ok job, the latest 30FPS Bigme models better than ok.

The downside is all of the above are relatively expensive, and much more advanced than a PRS-T2.

Does anyone have or know where I can download rupor's AMR (Absolute Minimal Root) package for the PRS-T2? (It might called something like: AMR-T2-2013.zip, or AMR-T2-2015.zip).

I believe the AMR package can work with the latest firmware on the T2. I have a PRS-T2 with 1.1.00.15240 firmware, which I would like to root, and nothing else can crack it.


It's my only hope! But I can't find the AMR package anywhere....

So if you root, what can you do? The OS is rather old. The T2 runs Android 2.2.

Look. I'll make both you an JSWolf a deal: Point me to where I can get a copy of the AMR files I am asking about. Or if either of you might have it in your files, please allow me to access it.

And yes, I realize it's 2025, and it's a reader from 2012, and has an old version of Android. COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT THOSE IRRELEVANT DETAILS.

Only buy a dedicated ereader (or anything else) if you are happy to use it as it is.

If you want a custom eink application then get a Pi and eink panel. Assume it will be rubbish as an ereader compared to a T2.

I don't have any files pertaining to the T2. I only had a T1. Plus, I never wanted to root. You'll have to find them elsewhere. I cannot help you root.
