Maybe I'll buy a 4th Kindle and then immediately toss it into the trash, so I can have at least 3 months of free Kindle Unlimited.

Try this: Visit the Kindle Unlimited page and peruse the site. Let the cookies accumulate. Then exit. Do that a few times a week. Let them know you're thinking about it.

That’s why I own a Matcha basic Kindle. It was on sale, I got three months Kindle Unlimited with it, and somehow paying for a new device seemed a more reasonable option than paying for a KU subscription. I have no offers any more (but happily love the Kindle itself).

Same here. No deal at all. I just did 3 months free when I got my Colorsoft in January so not surprised.

The only offer that I see on Amazon Canada is the lock in at the current $9.99/month price if you pay for 6 or 12 months by 2025-Oct-31.

Right before Prime day, Amazon offered me prime for 7.49 a month for 3 months and then 7.49 a month thereafter. I do expect them to go up after 3 months and not continue the 7.49 but I shall see.
Guess I am on their better offers list.

I went ahead and joined (free for one month), in the hope of seeing the option to join for one year. If I can get the price down to $9.99 each month [or $9.99 x 12 or less for one year], then I'll do it.

However, I am not finding a year's subscription option at all. Perhaps it is only available when I cancel next month, on Sept. 23.

I ended up with a free month of Prime, offered right before Prime Day. I generally “pause” my membership, and just do the free shipping level for orders for the few that I place as I try to reduce my Amazon use (I have a few things I can only get there, or at a significant discount, like my sleep aids.) Eventually after being paused for a bit Amazon will offer me a free or significantly discounted month of Prime membership, so I accept that then immediately set it to “pause” instead of auto-renew.

I’ve gotten a surprising amount of discounted Prime usage from this over the past year, enough that I absolutely will not pay full price for a Prime membership now.

Next up is figuring out how to get one of those excellent Kindle Unlimited offers once my current subscription expires in November.

I've never seen an annual option for KU here in the UK. One of those features they haven't rolled out to other versions of Amazon, I think.

I did the free month trial last year, and had a deal for £3.99 for two months earlier this year. The full price subscription doesn't make sense for me as I approach 2000 unread books (and it's more than I typically spend on ebooks in a month anyway), but there is enough on there for an occasional flyby when I get a deal.
