Can I update NeoReader on my Poke 3?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade NeoReader on my old Poke3 (firmware 3.5_4687b1901).
The old version does not sync my annotations with my NoteAir3 properly (page numbers get messed up).
Is there a guide on how to extract the App from my new device and try to install it on the Poke 3? It's been a while since I used adb.

Sadly, I can't figure it out.

Pulling the apk from the Poke3 works fine (backup just in case). Pulling the apk from the Note Air didn't work, so I copied it to /sdcard/Download/ and pulled it from there. Then I tried installing it via adb, which failed

I tried signing the apk with apksigner but then it complained that the signatures don't match.

Theoretically I could uninstall Neoreader to install my signed version, but I'm afraid of bricking my device because the app is so integrated with the OS. Is there a way to pull the apk that keeps the signature intact?

No, signing it yourself is not going to help.
It's a system app and you're not system.
(Unless you want to go nuclear and re-sign your entire system.)

Where did you pull the app from?

I tried adb pull /system/app/kreader2-release/kreader2-release.apk on the NoteAir which didn't work, so I used cp to copy the apk to the device's Download folder and pulled from there.

Well, it should have been system signed already.
Maybe the two systems have different system signing.
