Hey guys, looks like we went a little overboard and blocked some too many IP ranges while fending off a pretty hefty DDoS attack. I've lifted those broad blocks but left the specific offending IPs in place (they'll drop off automatically in a few days).

You should be able to get back on the site now. Sorry for the hassle.

Huh, it seems to be an issue with Vivaldi's user-agent masking.

If its set to Chrome [Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/136.0.0.0 Safari/537.36], http2 error.

Set to Vivaldi [Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/136.0.0.0 Safari/537.36], a timeout error.

The setting modifies the HTTP headers so something got messed up it seems.

So are we confident it was a targeted DDoS attack? The speculation on the other thread was that it was a knock-on effect of AI bots trying to scrape info from the site. Which admittedly might have had the same end-result, I'm just curious whether the DDoS was intentional or merely a side-effect of the other thing.

Yeah, same here. It was the User Agent Brand Masking set to Chrome (Options > Network) that made it do that instead of timing out.
