"There is a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it."

I have an Oasis 8th Generation, which has been jail broken for many years. recently when I connect it to my laptop, I get the above message. Running a scan makes no difference - I get the same message next time. I think my next step is to do a full resent, upgrade the firmware (it's running 5.7.4!) and jailbreak it again, this time using Winterbreak.

Does the panel believe that this might solve the problem, or is the drive on the way out? I don't want to go through all this just for the problem to be unchanged. And if I upgrade the firmware, what version should I go for? I'm not sure what this model is capable of running, but I don't want 18.5. Thank you. |

Do you maybe have and use USBNet hack (for SSH connections)? I recall having Windows bitch about kindle removable drive basically after each time I toggle between USBMS and USBNET modes.

			I don't think so - I don't use SSH.

If there's nothing else wrong with the device except you getting this message in windows, you may dismiss it. I remember one of my devices always getting this message whenever I connected it to windows, and I never had any problems with it. It's just windows having a fit.

Unfortunately, books that I upload via Calibre aren't showing up, though Calibre shows them as loaded.
