Have you ever read a novel that you suspect was originally fanfic?

One fanfic subgenre is coffee shop fics. You put the original characters in an ordinary, everyday setting, like making them all employees and customers at a coffee shop instead of superheroes or whatever extraordinary they are in the original works, and play with how they'd act in that setting. Some of those fics are so different from the original works that it's pretty hard to spot the parts that are inspired by them. But someone who has read a lot of fanfic might recognise some coffee shop tropes.

In other fics, the inspiration is more obvious. Like the one where a poor artist finds a bottle with a genie who has been magically enslaved by an evil cult bent on world domination, and the artist and the genie defeat the cult together. Still pretty far from the original story of Captain America and Bucky Barnes, but enough left of the overarching story and the defining characteristics of the originals that it wouldn't be too hard to spot it even with the serial numbers filed off.

Another little off topic,

In her 2016 autobiography The Princess Diarist, Fisher wrote that she and Harrison Ford had a three-month affair during the filming of Star Wars in 1976.

Which means that when we watch Leia on that first film, she (seventeen) and Han (Harrison Ford, that at that time was married) was having a romance for real.
Sadly anyone forget her suddenly and for long, still watching a beatiful princess on the screen.

Oddly, several series that I read are set in a shared universe. One example is Eric Flint's 1632/Ring of Fire books. There was a mass of short stories written in the Grantville Gazette (~100 issues as ebooks) plus the 1632 & Beyond books. I suspect that quite a few people share my love for those stories. Yes, some of the stories were written by known names but the majority were written by people with their first entry in professional writing.
